there’s / nothing / here, except / empty / beer

inert / thinking / now / again / with me / here

the percussion of the rain, the / gamelan chime

wandering through the night, no / rhythm or / rhyme

in a / checkmate / maze / alarm clock / in a / haze

inert / thinking / now / again / with me / here

on the empty bed, with / quiet pen I write

thoughts that come to me, / throughout the long / night

wandering / here and / there, in / insipid / morning / air

inert / thinking / now / again / with me / here
